NEP Syllabus

"Education is about creating leaders for tomorrow."

Implementing the 5+3+3+4 Structure

At MVM we follow the NEP structure. The NEP (National Education Policy 2020) introduces a new structure for school education, replacing the previous 10+2 system. It consists of 5 years of foundational education, 3 years of preparatory stage, 3 years of middle stage, and 4 years of secondary stage indicating the distribution of school education across different stages (5+3+3+4 Structure).

This structured approach to education seeks to provide a more balanced and learner-centric system that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century while respecting their individuality and cultural context. It promotes a well-rounded, adaptable, and skilful generation of students who can excel in a rapidly changing world.

Aims of the NEP 2020 Structure:

  • Reduce the curriculum burden on students, promoting holistic learning, and reducing the pressure of exams.
  • Encourage a more flexible and multidisciplinary approach to learning, allowing students to explore and develop the talent and interest.
  • Promote the use of the mother tongue or local language as the medium of instruction, fostering a stronger foundation and cultural relevance.
  • Incorporate vocational education and experiential learning to ensure students are well-prepared for a wide range of career options.
  • Create a more inclusive and equitable education system, addressing the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities.
